Thank you to all those who participated and helped make SimWorld 2010 a great success.
Over 35 companies were represented from over 20 countries around the world, effectively making SimWorld 2010 the most diverse SimWorld conference yet.
Presentations were given by users and GSE on topics such as:
• Advancements in simulation technologies including the use of engineering codes
• New build reactors and other first-of-a-kind power plant technologies and projects
• Issues focused on the use of distributed control systems in nuclear & fossil control rooms and their impact on simulators
• Training challenges and solutions facing the power industry today
• Practical experience with engineering and design validation using real-time simulation
For the first time at SimWorld, GSE implemented in-depth workshops to address needs, improvements, and trends in power simulation in a more intimate environment where participation was encouraged and specific technical questions were discussed.
» A New Approach for Developing Tomorrow's Nuclear & Industrial Workforce
» Relap5 for Real-Time
» Advanced Modeling for Fossil Simulation Applications
SimWorld 2010 offered an exciting opportunity to hear a prominent voice in the global nuclear industry, Dr. Hans Blix. Currently Chairman of the International Advisory Board (IAB), the UAE government's advisory group on nuclear energy, Dr. Hans Blix spoke poignantly about the nuclear power revival to our audience of diverse power professionals.
We hope that the technical information and business building opportunities provided by the conference has been as valuable to our attendees as it has been for GSE.
